Came from Aspen to Crested Butte and was quickest route but it is 90% dirt road so I wouldn’t go if rainy or snowy. BUT, what beautiful scenery. Loved it just be careful in narrow places but it’s worth the drive!

We drove from McClure Pass over Kebler Pass into Created Butte. Many of the trees on the Paonia side of Kebler Pass are still green. More color if not near peak from the top of Kebler to CB. Camped at Lost Lake and the colors...More

Kebler Pass is spectacular in the Fall when the Aspen’s show their colors. The road is decent (but quite muddy in the rain).

Wow - gorgeous fall colors and views with the beautiful aspens. Took the pass to Paonia for wine tastings and lunch. Be sure to book Dolly’s Mountain Shuttle to do the driving. Our new friend/tour guide/driver, Kate, was excellent.

I thought I had seen the best of Colorado in my many, many day trips from Denver. However, if you want to see THE BEST of Colorado in the span of about 2-3 hours, then drive Kebler Pass, summer or fall. We drove it the...More

This drive added several hours to our trip but was well worth it. The Aspens are amazing. You'll never see another stand of trees like you will driving through this pass. We absolutely loved it.

The Kebler Pass Road between Somerset and Crested Butte, is a photographers paradise when the aspens are turning. Mountains of gold and color superb. Not to be missed!

I was avoiding this trip from Crested Butte to Carbondale. The F150 is a large truck but handled the mostly dirt road beautifully. I loved this solo trip with my dog and stopped several times for photos. If you are considering driving to the Aspen...More

From the time you wander out of Crested Butte, it only takes a mile or two before Kebler Pass really grabs your attention and keeps it focused for the ongoing trip. Typically closed in the winter, Kebler is a fantastic mix of vistas, heart-stopping drops...More

Beautiful drive on easy to drive dirt road. Scenery is amazing and access to some good hikes and lakes from Kebler Pass. Would love to see it in the fall!

Mostly well graded dirt road. Easily able to drive in any type vehicle. We were in a rental vehicle and was not in the least bit nervous to take it on this road.

No there is already snow in the high country and the elevation is high. The road will probably be closed.
