Just west of Colorado Springs, proper, the Old Colorado City Historic District has some good food places and nice privately owned shops for candy, knick-knacks, and clothing. Public parking places have good signage. This is a nice place to spend an afternoon walking around

We enjoyed strolling in this area. Art stores, artisans, boutiques, eateries, and other types of shops. A relaxing stroll not packed with people.

We had a nice time wandering, but the map that we had was a little off (there is good chance that we were reading it wrong.). We enjoyed wandering and people watching.

Old Colorado City is a throw back to the mining boom that has remained pretty much as it was except modern additions such as electricity has been added that give a beautiful sight at night.

Old Colorado City is a fun outing to stroll down the street and check out the local shops and eateries. Pace yourself and enjoy a laid back, relaxing day. Not busy like Denver! Plenty to see, and lots of great food. Quaint shops for souvenirs,...More

The two previous answers cover the situation except to say that there are some really good off the beaten path restaurants in the "Old" City.

Sorry for the delay in response, I have been away. Old Colorado City business hours vary as noted by some of the other responses. The best bet is to call ahead or check the merchants website but most shops open between 10am... More
