This site gets high marks because of the "live" experience. The docents and junior docents, dressed appropriately and stayed in character as they shared their knowledge and invited participation throughout the ranch. That factor gave this site an advantage, and slowed the tendency to rush...More

Opened at 10am and got there 10:15- already packed. We've been to a number of these and they did a good job with re-enacting time period. Showed us how to laundry, made blackberry ice cream, and got to try it and lots of great info....More

Wonderful historic site showing three time periods in the Pikes Peak region. Horses, cow, pigs, sheep and chickens and a forge. Local children portray children of the time periods.

I did not see any wheel chairs there. Much of it is outside on dirt walkways due to it being a historical site.

It is a city park that you can access any day (via the road on the south side or trails at Garden of the Gods.) The buildings are only open on particular days in which you must pay or be a member to be on grounds.
