Colorado Springs is home to America’s ONLY mountain zoo. Located at 6,800 feet above sea level, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo offers breathtaking views of the city and of its 750 animals. The unique design of the Zoo’s animal exhibits gets guests closer than ever before. Hand-feed one of the largest reticulated giraffe herds in the world, watch grizzlies swim with trout, hop next to red-necked wallabies and get hands on with some of the Zoo’s smaller residents in The Loft. Loved everything about it... great zoo. The giraffe exhibit is exceptional. Would highly recommend the feeding option (for an additional nominal fee), because it enhances the experience. If time allows, I would also suggest visiting the Will Rogers Memorial Shrine... very interesting and beautiful views....More

This was super cool to go to a zoo on a mountain. It was crazy to see how they laid this place out. I love how they have a chair lift to take you up the mountain and over the animals. A great family trip.

We were surprised and pleased by our visit to the zoo. My wife saw a few animals she thought were only fantasies and not real! The giraffes were the highlight for my kids and they fed lettuce with a lot of joy and wonder....... good...More

This is really a must see activity! We had the ability to feed giraffes, elephants, and got a special behind the scenes visit with wallabies (set up ahead of time)! We went 3 times during our two-week stay in the Springs. Ask for Beth Rizzo...More

This zoo was so much fun for the whole family. We loved the close encounters, there was staff at many of the exhibits giving talks about the animals. This is a must see!!!
