Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is America's ONLY mountain zoo. Large alpine habitats are home to over 950 different animals and approximately 180 species. All of your favorites are here - monkeys, hippos, tigers, elephants and bears (oh my!). Hand-feed their large reticulated giraffe herd, and experience animals up-close, like never before.

The only mountain zoo in the US. This is a must see if you are visiting Colorado Springs. They have a great giraffe expo. You can feed them from your hand. There is a 100 yr old carousel that the kids loved. Great monkey house. It is very hilly. Bring your tennis shoes. Lots of walking. The food in the... More

The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is a fabulous place for young and old alike. Could be a challenge to walk for older visitors, but there is a tram that will take you all around (hop on hop off). Great selection of animals and they are constantly making wonderful improvements. Views of Broadmoor area and Colorado Springs is amazing. Admission includes visit... More

I visited the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo on a beautiful Wednesday in February with my family. I was amazed that it was not more crowded. We had a fantastic time feeding the giraffes (which costs $) as well as some lizards (which was free). The docents were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We loved the Australian area with the wallabies. This is... More

This is a nice clean zoo. Be willing to walk uphill. But worth the effort. Spent a fun afternoon here.

A really good place to visit. The animals have experiences - like higher eating ie. not on the ground that seem to keep them very happy. The giraffes were favorites - you can buy a bunch of lettuce and feed them at their height and watch their amazing long blue tongues.

Great zoo for up close experiences with animals. Can be seen in a couple of hours. Animals were active and close enough to be easily seen. The highlight is clearly feeding the giraffes. This is a great place for kids, but adults can enjoy it too. Added bonus--you can drive up to the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun if... More

We had a fun couple of hours at the zoo. Loved feeding the giraffes. Lots of walking as it really is on the side of a mountain. A couple of the large exhibits were being renovated, so no animals there. However, it's well worth a visit.

I have been to several Zoo attractions and I would rate this one in top 2. My husband and I had been there several years before with our son. We enjoyed it then but life got busy and traveled to other attractions. We went back on an anniversary weekend just the two of us. We enjoyed the old ski lift... More

Whenever I have friends or family visit I recommend the zoo. And I always go with and I always love it. Young, teens, adults or seniors - it's a great way to spend the day. Walking involved, but there are trams for people that need that assistance.
