Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is America's ONLY mountain zoo. Large alpine habitats are home to over 950 different animals and approximately 180 species. All of your favorites are here - monkeys, hippos, tigers, elephants and bears (oh my!). Hand-feed their large reticulated giraffe herd, and experience animals up-close, like never before.

I'm of mixed minds when it comes to zoos. I love to see the animals but hate to see them in cages when they should be running free. That said, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo does what they can to help with species survival efforts and to give the animals as much room as possible. The staff and volunteers all seem... More

This zoo is so much fun! We went on a cold day, so there wasn't much traffic & we had the run of the zoo. The giraffe feeding was awesome and it seemed like you could get way closer to the animals at this zoo, than others I have been to. They seem to really be making some great additions... More

We enjoyed a day at the Zoo with my parents. We got to feed the giraffes, watch them feed mountain lions, listen to keepers discuss the care of rhinos and many other fun activities! Would highly recommend this zoo. We visited in September which also was a perfect weather time.

My husband and I were able to visit the zoo this past June. I have a few health conditions that affect me daily, so seeing how the zoo was set up, (ascending a mountain) was pretty daunting. But we ended up spending 5 hours exploring. The path between exhibits is steep at times, but there are plenty of benches and... More

This was an incredible zoo. As a visitor from out of state, visiting this zoo on the side of a mountain was something else! Being able to get up close to the giraffes and feed them lettuce was thrilling even as a 20-something. The Australian Exhibit was one of our favorites, but there is no exhibit you should skip as... Second visit in 2 and 1/2 years and very pleased with the experience. Only negative issue was the poorly maintained climbing wall at the top of the skyway. Many of the hand/foot holds were either missing or poorly attached. Not an expensive or time consuming fix considering the zoo entrance prices.

I've traveled all over and have seen a ton of of zoos - Los Angeles, San Diego, Toronga (Sydney), etc. They're all pretty much the same. This zoo was awesome! Great views of the city below and well laid out. Mostly the usual animals, but the design of the zoo and how you get to things is the great thing... More

We were in town for thanksgiving with our family and kids. We strayed at the Broadmoor which offers free shuttle service to the zoo. The zoo is great! The attractions allow up close views of elephants, lions, tigers, wolves, rhinos and giraffes. What a great time.

Very reasonable price for an amazing zoo. Animals can be experienced up close, closer then I have ever been to some of these animals. Enrichment program keeps animals active all day. Behind the scenes looks and education programs are a neat experience. This is a must for any animal lover!!
