I doubt the road will ever be reopened for motorized vehicles. It is, however, one of my favorite places for cross country skiing on the odd occasion when there is enough snow.

High Drive is a nice mountain drive close to Colorado Springs. You get beautiful mountain views, natural tunnels, and it dumps you out literally in Colorado Springs. Great place for a picnic, as there are a few pull off spots.

no, it is not and it is unlikely to reopen for cars. Open for bicycles, hiking and cross country skiing.

None of High Drive is paved. It is approximately 4 miles long. It is currently semi open, but only for non motorized use. The City is doing repair work caused by the September 2013 floods. It is closed when equipment is... More
