The overall experience was very informative. The curator was friendly and helpful. We were on an ancestry search and found part of what we needed there in some historical books. Highly recommended.

Americans rushed to Gregory Gulch to make their fortunes after gold was discovered there in 1859. This lovely museum (1870s school house) captures the Gold Rush with interesting exhibits and excellent guides. Also see the miniature Main Street, a submarine (!), and rotating exhibits.

This the center of activity for Central City and a great place to begin your visit. Alan, who manages the museum, will coordinate daily tours of Teller House and the Opera House which are just across the street. Well worth spending time here to review...More

Great artifacts from the early west. The guy who runs it is fantastic and the best thing the place has going for it. Spend time talking with him. You'll enjoy it...... it's only 6 bucks to get in. The downside is...central city is a complete...More
