Use to be a really nice drive. Spent a lot of my time as a kid out there hiking and playing in the creek. However people today have lost a ton of respect. Someone tagged the old stone and eventually knocked it over. There is trash everywhere from soda bottles to couch's to old box springs. The city doesn't really... More

We go up here a couple times a year. Great place to hike. Lots of history in this area. Kids love to play in the water.

Temple Canyon Park is good for hiking. Not very handicapped accessible though. Includes the eco park.. Was a popular area of Native Americans many years ago. Beautiful scenery on the south side of Canon City.

The rugged road--passable with 2WD--goes through a scenic, isolated canyon. There are at least a couple of picnic grounds, but the facilities are minimal. We were just passing through and didn't take any of the hiking trails. It's kind of hard to find from Canon City.

Great park to camp at, just stayed at the Temple Ridge area, about 2-3 miles from Grape Creek restroom area. The road is rough but passable with almost any vehicle (we have driven with both a Suzuki Reno and a Scion xA) just watch for deep ruts. There is NO water services but the creek is clear, quick and easily filtered/... There are a few hairpin turns on the twisty dirt road, but the park has lots of picnic tables and great views. Drive on toward the Royal Gorge and cross scenic and historic Grape Creek with interpretive signs and a restroom.
