A great cycle climb was rewarded with stunning views of the snow capped peaks around Mount Audubon and a more close range view of sweet Boulder Lake

I came here years ago and Flagstaff mountain was one of the most beautiful places, but now the city of Boulder seems to no longer be policing the graffiti that is rampant on this mountain. Also this isn't place for children and while walking around...More

Our first time to drive up this twisty mountain road that offers gorgeous scenery; how did we miss doing this drive for 25 years? It is beautiful! We enjoyed the views at various pull-offs, then enjoyed sunset. At the ampitheater, we watched the lights start...More

We went early in the morning so there was little traffic. We watched the sunrise from the amphitheater, hiked the easy tenderfoot trail with great views and also hiked the west ridge trail to Green Mountain summit. This trail is the easiest way to the...More

Drove as far as the East Summit due to the threat of rain. Would not want to be on the road during a down pour and the rain returned just as we were almost back down the mountain. The two lane road is well maintained...More

Flagstaff Mountain offers the best views of Boulder in only a short drive. There are scenic pull-outs with maps and history plaques with facts on the area. There are a number of trails coming off the main road. Whether feeling athletic or just wanting a...More

There are various viewpoints and hiking trails. Panorama viewpoint is the closest one. Park and hike the scenic trail. It takes you a down a winding path with excellent view the whole way. I find it more relaxing than the Chautauqua trails.

I live here, so have visited it often. The drive up is steep, and you have to look out for bicyclists. The view at the top is great. There are hikes coming off the top. Parking can be a problem.

The view point on Flagstaff Road was the main reason we visited Boulder. It has stunning view of the entire city and CU. The "view point" is a small circle on the side of the Flagstaff Road. It is not marked on the map, but...More

Hello. Just going to be in Boulder for the day (this Friday). I wanted to show my daughter the CU campus, then get a bite to eat on Pearl St. then drive up a mountain to possibly see snow. Is there snow up on the mountain and is it easy to drive up there? Thanks

I was there a week or so ago and there were just tiny patches of snow here and there. The road up there is very windy and steep in spots, but we didn't have any problem in our rental sedan. Our biggest concern were the... More

Camping isn't allowed in Boulder's Open Space and Mountain Parks area, which is the area Flagstaff is in. If you do a web search for camping near Flagstaff you can find some nearby (though not easily walkable) places.
