Visit the Carlton Brewhouse, located at Australia's largest brewery & home of some of Australia's favourite beers including Carlton Draught & Victoria Bitter. Here you can go on a beer expedition, following the River of Beer through which 150,000 litres of fresh beer flows each day. You'll be guided through 150 years of brewing history & knowledge as you experience the sheer scale of this iconic facility on the banks of the Yarra. Return to the Brewhouse to sample your favourite brewery fresh beers, enjoy a delicious meal, play in the Brewer's Yard or have some fun with our new touch screen TV's. The Carlton & United Brewery, Abbotsford Plant, is a genuine working brewery and production numbers vary week to week, as such, we cannot guarantee that all areas of the plant will be fully operational on the day you visit. Please call for an up-to-date production schedule. Don't have time for a tour? Attended a function at the Carlton Brewhouse, a museum/education facility about beer and the history of CUB. Food was quite good, entree was cutlets on a yoghurt dressing, with couscous, main was slow cooked rib eye with broccolini and pumpkin in a filo pastry. Both meats were well cooked cutlets pink, slow cooked ribeye was tender and pulled off the... More

Some of the tour was conducted outside the buildings. The entire bottling and packaging plant was not operating and the video screen in the packaging plant was not working properly. Food and beer samples was the best part of the experience.

Hi there, Very sorry to hear you didn't fully enjoy your tour. We try to advise guests as much as possible in advance if the brewery isn't in full production. Its also noted in a confirmation email and the t&c's that there are times when the brewery won't be in full operation due to the nature of brewery. But I... More

We had such a great time on the tour. Our tour guide Ros was brilliant! She was super friendly and interesting to listen to. It was awesome to see inside the factory also. We particularly loved the six samples at end :) would definitely recommend!

Good to get a education on beer - didn't see much production line activity. Sample beers at the end were great - got to try different bets you might otherwise buy. Combined beer tasting with chicken Parma - good valve

I really enjoyed the Carlton United Brewery Tour. From the moment you walk through the door you are greeted with terrific hospitality. Then you are taken on a wonderful trip through history about the brewery from past to present day. The tour was informative and the tour guide was terrific explaining everything from the history of the CUB to how... More

Now, as I drink a beer, I will forever think about the ingredients and processes involved. Attended a food and beer tour, two hours long. The facility itself is interesting but not necessarily spectacular, although there are air conditioned and well appointed rooms where the tour guide can point out parts of the operation and spend time explaining the process.... Me not being a beer fan thought it would be a fun and different thing to do . A group of us decided to take a tour of the brewery. Yes it was a good 11/2 hours. No alcohol beforehand and a walk around the large grounds and interior of the brewery. It was informative and interesting, with beer tasting... More
