My daughter and I decided to do this trail on the recommendation of someone from the area. We were prepared for the snow, but someone had gone over it with a vehicle with tracks, which made it far more difficult than just hiking through the snow. It was also not well marked, so we took off on a foot path... More

Aspens as well as evergreens and it all ends with a beautiful lake. A bit of an incline in place. Park in the GF parking garage and take the senses trail to get to the beaver lake trailhead. Be careful if you chance parking along the road, they have boot nazis in Avon now.

The community of Beaver Creek Village is picture perfect, idyllic, family-oriented, and loaded with activities for winter and summer. It is in this perfect paradise that Beaver Lake Trail is located. If new to the "village", do plan to spend more time exploring the multitude of things to do. It can almost be overwhelming (in a good way). On our... More

If this is your first hike in the area, it's a great place to start. Walkable, with great views and photo opportunities. It will inspire you to take more hikes!

Enjoyed our cool morning hike this week. Started out at the new fire station. The beginning of the trail/road has changed in recent years but once you get about 45 minutes into the hike, the woods and views are really nice. Leaves are just barely starting to turn yellow up high. Trail is straight uphill with some rougher rocky stretches,... More

There are multiple beginnings but this trail is very pretty. Crossing bridges, rocky roads and a few ponds, this is quite the hike especially to those new to altitude. I highly recommend it. We even saw a moose at the beginning and it set the feeling for the rest of the hike. Play the theme from Northern Exposure and you... More

Hiked the Beaver Lake Trail several times the past two weeks. Especially above Talons (fka Red Tail Camp) the trail is beautiful and a true hiking trail. Depending on fitness and hiking style this can be a very nice excursion. The lake itself is idyllic and a nice reward for the 1.25 - 2.5 hour (one way) hike up there.... More

My daughter, son-in-law and myself walked to Beaver Lake today. This is my fourth trip in 15 years. It has extremely rocky stretches that resemble washed out rock beds rather than a trail. Wasn't like this years ago. I wouldn't recommend it for the very young, the very old or those with breathing issues. Very uneven surfaces. Instead of walking... More

We started from Beaver Creek Chapel and took the 5 Senses Trail until it merged with Beaver Lake Trail. The trail is wide but there are a couple of steeper grades going up. We also saw people that were doing it on Horseback(a nice option if you have the $) we walked up to the lake and then we came... More

Very easy and scenic trail to follow. Nice stream, flowers and beautiful scenery. Quite a few people on the trail, but all polite and friendly. We are moderate as far as hiking goes and had no trouble at all on the trail. The weather was perfect but even with sunshine there are plenty of shaded areas. Bring water, very important... More
