If you are interested to visit Buddhist temple, this is it! The founder of this temple contributed majority part of this camp area to "education" usage. The actual temple is only a small building. I think that is a noble cause! Many peacocks wondering inside the camp freely, nice to see them too.

I had the pleasure of eating here a few times on my trip out to Ukiah while visiting friends. My overall experience at this place was amazing. You can really tell that unlike other places in this town this place was warm and friendly to their guests. I will have to add that their food tops some of the best... More

This is a very unusual and interesting place to visit. I highly recommend eating at their vegetarian place. It's very plain, always full, waiters are in a hurry but the food is tasty, inexpensive and there's lots to choose from.

The city of Ten Thousand Buddhas is a pious place. The prayers conducted at the Monastery is soul stirring. The Bookshop is a must visit place. The vegetarian restaurant is a big bonus.

The Nuns are so nice BUT caution, the Buddhist do NOT kill any of th roaches in the kitchen. It is against their religion, sorry to spill the beans. Love the peacocks!

When I was about 8-10 years old, a family friend had invited us to this temple because she had joined the order. I remember going into a very large hall and eating very good food. Later, I found out that it did not contain any meat! I also remembered entering a large hall with a giant Buddha at the "alter".... More

First you park near the administration building. Then you go inside to sign in as a visitor. Feeling welcomed, take a walk around the village. Lots of deteriorated structures and evidence of rebuilding and remodeling. School for girls on one side of the street. School for boys a little ways away on other side of the street. Most amazing is... More

You need not be a Buddhist to appreciate the beauty and peacefulness of the public grounds or the absolutely delicious food at the restaurant on the grounds. This is one of the local places I take all my visitors. Without exception, they have all been very happy with the whole experience. My local friends and I love to go to... More

What a hidden place my husband and I found. Decided to go here since we were in Ukiah City already. Such an amazing atmosphere here.

This is a cultural gem just east of Ukiah, driving time under 10 mins. Very relaxing atmosphere and beautiful temple surrounded by lovely grounds where peacocks roam free. The vegetarian cafe is a must do! Reasonably priced!
