The museum was very good but the 10 $ parking fee was bogus...I grew up here so it was a trip down memory lane.. the information I had known from elementary school. Worth a visit!

It was a nice stop park with many amenities we did not use since we had private access to the Lake. There are several books written on the Donner Party tragedy that tell an inspiring story.

This is a great place to get some history of the Chinese who helped build the tunnels and railroad. It is also a place to hear and see more about the Donner party. It is a good place for the lake, and hiking.

Parking is limited so arrive early or after 3 pm to get a spot. You have to pay to park (inside with ranger). Watch the short movie to get an overview of what happened and then wander the displays and grounds to appreciate it all.
