This place is simply wonderful! The silence of the desert really impressed me. You drive a 5 miles dirty road and you can walk in the middle of the pinnacles.

This is an amazing spot. We are Boondocking around the western states and happened on this possible camping spot. The 5 mile road in was a bit questionable with the forecast of rain and a 28’ A class vehicle, but here we are and it...More

On of the most interesting formations I have seen. Been here many times. Its off the highway on a 5 mile or so dirt road. But the road is good, even for sedans. Just follow the road, you can't get lost. There are informational signs...More

Our route changed due to inclement weather in Lake Tahoe, so we headed for the Las Vegas from the south after spending the night in Ridgecrest. I saw this on a Google map and at the last minute we turned off the highway and pondered...More

What a wonderful place! Driving on the washboard road, one thinks it's closer than it is to the tufa spires. Quiet and full of surprises. Just plain cool.

Other worldly and special. Star Trek and other films have been here. Ubiquitous in car commercials. Just a unique place. Out of the way. Worth the journey.

Read the other reviews for great information (remoteness, road condition, geology). My addition: bring your tent or small RV and plan to camp here for a really unique experience. And it's free! Thanks, Bureau of Land Management :-)

About a 5 mile dirt road to get to the pinnacles. They are beautiful and worth the drive to see them. On the way there are abandoned freight cars where you can also get some good pictures. We went here around 5pm whcih was perfect...More
