My knowledge of lace didn't go much farther than the rock n roll song "Chantilly Lace" and the doilies from my great grandmother before visiting the Lace Museum. A recent article in the San Jose Mercury News on the Museum's White on White Exhibit (on through June 24) spurred me to visit. Now I'm all enthusiastic for people to experience... More

What a fun place to find. Very friendly people willing to share their love of lace and items made with lace. They were decorating for Christmas...very unique decorations.

If you admire lace, this is the best south bay location to learn more about construction and history.

I won't begin to say that I understand much of what I saw (my wife is the one interested in lace), but I'll admit freely that what I saw was amazing and certainly interesting and beautiful. They change their displays several times a year and have beautiful Christmas ornaments. It's a remarkable museum operated by a group of volunteers.

If you are into lace, the making and history, this is a nice place to visit. The displays are nice and easy to read. Most times there is a docent that will guide you around the small museum. They have a large section of books about lace and the how to make lace. If you could care less about lace... More

Nice place to visit if you have spare time and don't know what to do. It is more like lace market, then actual museum. But they have lovely winter exposition.

If you're looking for something obscure to do, this will fit the bill. Like a trip back in time, the docent is very possessive of you and you're not allowed to look around on your own. The types of lace and background provided on the pieces was interesting and the whole trip took less than an hour.

This is indeed a tiny museum, and you probably wouldn't want to spend a long time there. However, for the equally tiny donation we made, it was interesting to see the VERY elaborate, huge beaded collars designed to decorate evening dresses, and other fine art work. Not an attraction you'd drive across the country for, but worth a brief stop,... More
