This is a great place to spend the afternoon acouple good food options around the drive getting there is amazing as well. I recommend going it’s worth the time you really get to see a lot of different aspects of California’s diverse nature. Have something for wind protection and you’ll be ok. Enjoy

Red Rock Beach or Mickeys beach is just south of Stinson beach. As you are driving North from San Francisco along PCH, the large dirt parking lot right before entering the town of Stinson beach is the parking and trailhead to Red Rock.

The beach is a nudist beach and a popular place for rock climbers. Both groups get along together with no issues. Mostly because many of the climbers are also nudist or are open minded. We found the beach because we are both long time nudist and Avid rock climbers. I

From the parking lot, the trail descends a dirt road that winds through thick brush and thicket. We usually go nude from just past the trail head when the road is no longer in sight. The bike down is about a 5-10 min bike down switch backs. At the bottom is well maintained stairs. When you reach the base of the cliff, there is a trail straight out to the ocean to the top of a large ocean side boulder. There are some moderate roped climbing routes on there but to find the nude beach, head right when you reach the base of the stairs. The initial beach is extremely rocky. If you continue North along the cliff base around some large boulders, you will come out into a large stretch of Sandy beach. This is Red Rock beach. The cliff breaks into two to three plateaus before the beach and you will find people camped out on all the levels. This beach is also where climbers come to boulder. There's nothing like nude bouldering and catching some rays. The beach is usually packed sand but after storms can be fairly rocky. The beach area going North from red rock before Stinson is also reachable when tide is low. There is a large rocky arm that juts into the beach that can be Walker around at low tide. The whole area at red rock and just North is nude until Stinson beach. Just south of red rock beach is a cool little beach side hot spring. Though the times when it is usable is dependent on the tides because of its height from sea level.

This little beach is a nice place for nudist and climbers who don't like crowds and don't mind the hike.

We saw Red Rock Beach but sis not make time to stop. We saw maybe 10 people as part of a birdwatching group standing by with binoculars watching wildlife and enjoying the sunny day. If we had more time, we would have stopped to join them.
