The Inn we stayed at in Sonoma was walking distance from the plaza. Many tasting rooms, stores and restaurants, we loved the convenience and wish we more time to explore!

Stayed in sonoma fir 2 nights and was looking forward to visiting the plaza. Total disappointment. Too many boutiques, restaurants and bars. Not to my liking. If you have a family, I wouldn't bother.

The Sonoma plaza has it all: huge ancient trees (check out the huge eucalyptus), monuments, a fountain with white ducks paddling away and lots of benches. Just a great place to relax and regroup after shopping or a place to enjoy a meal al fresco....More

If you want to reduce tension go here. I was shocked that I actually felt a calmness come over me. That NEVER happens. Give it a try.

Sonoma Plaza is very charming at first glance. Then unfortunately you notice a homeless population lying around. One man approached me smoking pot playing a tape recorder which shouted expletives. As I walked away another man approached me rambling with his hands down his pants....More

Sonoma is a beautiful historic town, with lots to see and do, and Sonoma Plaza is the heart of this community. Lovely park for all the family surrounded by lots of fabulous cafes, restaurants and shops.

The square is a good size and very well kept. This town has a lot of local gatherings. Great shops and over 40 tasting rooms. No real need to drive to winery's. Love this town.

Love this old western style square- full of shops, bars and restaurants- nice assortment and then there's the park- lively and fun-pretty plantings, nice place to stroll or take a break from wineries

I think the people above me have answered the question. Airporter bus & the variety of wine tour buses. Of course the taxi services, maybe even Uber/Lyft can help you out.
