So many wines and vineyards to try. They are all friendly and a bit lower key than Napa Valley. The Pinot Noir wine are top notch, along with so many other great wines from this region. Highly recommend a visit if you enjoy a good...More

We stayed in the valley for 3 nights and visited 4 wineries. Our experience was mixed, with Mumm and Mondavi looking great but being really cheap on the wine, tiny splashes of w4 wines for $25 as an example. Others were better and if you...More

Highway 12 can get very busy and crowded on the weekends but if you catch it during the week there are lots of things to see. I love the brown hills with green oak trees. It's the terrain I grew up with

My husband and I just returned from visiting Sonoma and had an amazing trip! If anyone out there is nervous to visit Sonoma or Napa after the Oct 2017 wildfires - don't be! As of Nov 2017 (when I write this) landscape does show fire...More

Sonoma Valley is a wonderful location with multiple wine tasting opportunities. It's more genuine than Napa, which now gets overcrowded with tourists. Sonoma has a tranquil quality with stunning scenery, fantastic restaurants and a very individual personality which can accommodate most budgets.

Beautiful hills dressed in luscious vineyards make this valley a wonderful place to live in or visit. The valley is narrower and quainter than the Napa Valley and much less pretentious. I would say, Napa is Range Rovers, Sonoma is Pick-up Trucks. Many old families...More

Ok, if you love wine and you're in Northern California you obviously have plenty of choices, the first being which valley to visit. I visited both Napa and Sonoma and for a guy like me, Napa was nice but c'mon man. Give me a break....More

Sonoma does not get the recognition of Napa but in my opinion has all the charm. The Valley tries very hard to hold on to it's historic background while alowing diveristy and modernization to flurish. Sonoma has some wonderful wineries, restaurants, shops and sites that are...More

The Sonoma town square has several tasting rooms that could give you a better idea of what vineyards to visit and it's a worthwhile destination in its own rite.

We stayed in an Airbnb just outside the city. Beautiful view of the valley and vineyard next door. Local host with good suggestions for the area. Quiet relaxing option
