Very interesting small museum with fascinating exhibits, however very unfriendly vibes from the "staff." We enjoyed the museum but felt unwelcome for some strange reason. Maybe because we didn't opt for the tour?

The Kentucky Mine is only open Wednesday through Sunday (10 - 4) Tours are at 11:00 am & 4:00 pm. The museum is full of historic gems and the tour of the mine and stamp mill is a bargain at $7.00. We were very lucky...More

Really enjoyed exploring this park and museum with our kids -- The park really gives you a feel for what it was like to mine for gold -- Great find

Spoiler alert! The only remaining operational gold mill in the world. It's living history in action twice daily in the beautiful Sierra's of California. We had a great grad student giving us a tour while overhead in the mill lived an endangered species of bats....More

Can't say enough positive things. A trip back in time when miners risked their lives to mine gold. I appreciated the fact that everything we saw was real. The immense scale of the ore processing equipment, which still is in operating condition, speaks for itself....More

On our way back from a hike, we stopped at the museum 10 minutes before they closed. They let us peruse the museum and property well after they're posted hours. Oh, it only cost $1 for adults!

This mine is only one in the world with intact gold mining tunnels, equipment, and artifacts in place and working for demonstrations. Large colony of large ear bats are protected in residence. 1 1/2 tour was hands on and great for kids. Highly recommended.

We took the entire tour. What a great place! My family has history in the area, but I still learned a lot. The docent that lead the tour was not only very informative, but had some great stories about the old times. The stamp mill...More

Because of the bats, an endangered species, the mine can only run 2 tours through the gold mill a day. At the time I was there there was one at 11am and another a 2 pm. I would check the hours of operation or call them to... More

Hi. The tour is $6.00 for adults and includes the museum. If you want to just look at the cool stuff in the museum, it's one dollar. I'm not sure if they have a child's or senior discount. Take lots of pictures and enjoy!
