A good place to start when visiting this charming waterfront community. The microclimate here gives sunny warm weather much of the time, even when it’s cool and foggy in San Francisco. Many great food and shopping options.
rode down to sausalito on our trip to San Francisco, lovely little place with great restaurants/deli's and gift shops, a welcome break from the hustle of the big city. We hired electric bikes and cycled through crissy fields, over the bridge and down into the...More
We stopped in Sausalito en route from Napa to San Francisco. The quaint village with the beautiful hillside homes makes a nice spot for breakfast or lunch and some light shopping. A different and relaxed vibe from that of San Francisco. The views of San Francisco...More
We came here to catch the shuttle to muir woods for $3 round trip. It is a GREAT VALUE and has many options to and from MUIR WOODS. The Sausalito Bay/Bridge bus is the one that drops and picks up here. Also, a block to...More

We stepped off the ferry from San Francisco, turned left and within 30 seconds were at this visitors center kiosk. It was the perfect location for getting information about Sausalito before exploring the town. Brochures and maps filled racks on the kosk's exterior walls. A...More

You would be better off renting bicycles and riding across the bridge. The bridge is no short walk. Then you would still need to walk further to get to Sausilito and then have the energy to walk around and enjoy yourself and ride the bikes back. I took the HOP on HOP of bus to the near side of the bridge. Hopped off. Walked over the bridge (got that off my bucket list. Lol.) then picked up the free trolley (part of my HOP on HOP off package) from the far side of the bridge which takes you in Sausilito. I spent some time there then caught the trolley back to where it picked me up. From there I caught the HOP on HOP of bus back to Union Square. Whatever you decide to do, bundle up. It's cold on the bridge.
