Wonderful, huge, clean, incredible beach. We had a blast that day. The sand is perfect, nice people, you can have nice walks, you can rent a bike, skateboard, e-bike or whatever and ride it on the special sidewalks and have the ocean breeze just next...More

I was here for some business meetings, but got time to take walks on the beach later in the afternoon. Great beach to walk on and watch the surfers and other people. Well maintained.

We stayed in Venice Beach and would often walk down the board walk into Santa Monica. The beach in Santa Monica is very clean and has beautiful soft, white sand. There are many restaurants along the beach and it is a great place to people...More

The beach is beautiful a bit of a walk to the shore. There is plenty of inexpensive parking. It was a highlight of our trip! free public bathrooms, food to purchase, walk to Venice or the pier.

It's a nice beach at Santa Monica next to the Pier. The facilities around are not very modern or very special in general, so 4 points is just the right scoring. There are not many restaurants or shady places.

A decent beach but it gets insanely crowded. Something I disliked was the rows of garbage cans...you could smell it while laying in the sand. There arent many trees on the beach for shade It really doesn't have much personality. Check out venice beach!

Great white sandy beach very big and lots of space. I went down on a Sunday afternoon and had no problem finding somewhere to sit. It's close to the pier and local amenities water fountain/ toilets. Not so good for disabled access, not that I...More

Considering its in the heart of a major city I always thought this was a great beach. All things considered it's well worth a visit.

wide beach, cold water, no shadow, separat places for surfers and those taking bath, many dustbins, the shore has for long way not a deep water.

Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a
balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a
thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers,
roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the
famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles
weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa
Monica pier spins high above the water, while park
revelers scream with delight riding the roller

I would stay in Santa Monica, as close to the beach as possible. If your hotel offers breakfast options you could have them there. And then hit the beach...the pier, have a nice, relaxing walk to Venice Beach and back... More

I didn't see any free parking, but I didn't think it was bad to pay $5-$10 to park in a parking lot that's right on the beach. I saw at least 4 along the strip of water between the Venice Beach pier and the Santa Monica pier.
