Took a bit of walking to get to the shore from the parking lot past the ranch but was worth the view and the walk. I would not say this is wilderness but a good walk within a close drive from town.

We live twenty minutes from Wilder Ranch and walk here frequently. The views of the protected beaches at the base of cliffs are magnificent- not even a footprint on them. Walking along the ocean bluffs you can see shore birds and pelicans fly by at eye level. The trails on the ocean side of the highway are wide and flat-... More

Not as famous as Point Lobos but still very nice (easy) trail to walk besides the amazing cliffs and bluffs. Go all the way to the cave (going down to the beach is easy) and later to the seal colony.

Beautiful coastal setting with hiking & bicycle trails for all ages and abilities...where we followed a beach side trail hike with a picnic in the historical ranch area...Never tire of this extraordinary gem on the Central Coast...

This a nice place to go for a hike on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. There is also a small farm with some animals. There was a wedding going on when we were there. Good washrooms and water.

Enjoy the windy and amazing views of the ocean!) Probably, that is the most scenic coastline on here in Northern California.

If you want to go for a nice walk along the rugged California coast come here. The walk is along the top of the bluff but there is access to the beach. Be sure to grab a sandwich at Togos in Santa Cruz before you go. They have gluten free wraps too!

we volunteer here for the farm animals every other week. it is a nice place for families with young children who are not afraid of a quasi-working farm: animal poo. gardens. small kid activities. lots of hiking and biking trails. those interested in California Coastal history [fairly brief] this is a nice 19th century preserved location, essentially a dairy operation... The cliff walk at Wilder Ranch is excellent. Great views, good length (about 1.3 miles each way, about an hour or a bit more), and good people on the trail.

This is a great state park to visit. Plan to spend a minimum of 2 to 3 hours even for a simple hike. The park has many trails and 7 of them are actually loops. Among them the easiest is Old Cove Landing Trail. It's 2.3 miles round trip and takes you thru beautiful scenic views of the ocean, cliffs,... More
