Started in the 1920's as a religious retreat and then a high school, this hotel is now owned by an international management group. It is top notch, an AAA 4 diamond. Rooms are clean and tastefully decorated, with quirky retro features in most. Parking is mostly on-street or valet--the 1100 building has an adjacent lot. Maintenance is excellent, inside and... Do NOT get a deep tissue massage here. A birthday spa weekend in September led to months of hell. I told the masssuse that I was feeling uncomfortable, but she assured me she was just about done. I left with a headache and a very strange sensation in my neck and back... which quickly led to a burning feeling (like... More

Outstanding food and outdoor dining patio overlooking the Pacific ocean in the far distance. However my room had no desk, only a small portable table little bigger than my laptop. A placard harangued me to save water but the shower nozzle had no setting but full blast on. There was no lighting in the closet where the mirror stood. The... More

I attended a two day work conference here and will definitely not return. The spa is dirty and falling apart. The door to the steam room scrapes on the floor and is hard to open. The hot tub is so full of dead bug parts and dirt, I couldn't stand to get in it at all. I wasn't able to... More

I went to the spa at Chaminade for a bachelorette party in the beginning of August. The facilities were wonderful, clean, and spacious. The sauna was very clean and the robes were super soft. What I want to highlight though is Aaron, my masseuse. I was in desperate need of some relaxation and needed some heavy work done on my... More

On May 16th a few months ago, I was Married at the Chaminade, and it was the best experience of my life! Not only was the place at the hotel where I was married decorated beautifully, but the food was phenominal, the help was amazing, the staff were beyond helpful, and basically the whole party after the wedding, will remain... I had a recent massage at the Chaminade Spa in Santa Cruz, CA. Karen was the massage therapist and she was fantastic! She was very calming and really knew her stuff when it came time for the deep tissue massage. I can't recommend the experience there enough.
