We had a good time at the railroad food was reasonably priced and the staff made the trip great would return in the future with other people that had never done this before had a good time price was reasonable

If you have a couple of hours to spend this is a worthy venture. The train ride is just long enough to be enjoyable and it stops about 40 min in to stretch you legs, take some pictures of the locomotive and there is restrooms....More

Please get a coupon for this ride through the redwoods...worth going on this train. Great views and pleasant ride. Summer time the trains run 4 times a day. Until summer only once a day at 11am....so plan accordingly.

Been on a lot of these but this one has the steepest grades and best views. Large redwoods are 1-2 feet from you. Conducter gave good commentary on RR, redwood trees and local history.

I went with my wife, mom and her boyfriend. We did the redwood forest rise and it was a lot of fun. It was a rather warm day but since most of the train ride is through the forest the shade made it much cooler....More

We rode the main steam engine and my boys loved it. My oldest is 5 but I would imagine a 7 year old would like it too.

I checked with my sources and found that you could ride both in the same day if you start in Felton first, ride the Bear Mt loop and then ride to Santa Cruz and back to Felton. These trains each have a different vibe.
