Went to SantaCruz in september after the main holiday season had finished. It looked a sad, mostly shut and in need of repair kind of place. I assume it's better in the season but its very much the tourist trap.

Lovely place to stop whilst driving Highway 1. Boardwalk is like stepping back in time but is a great place to people watch and have a go on the arcades. Beautiful beach too!

This is such a fun place for both kids and adults. You walk along the beautiful beach, passing arcade games, food stops, and then arrive at the terrific amusement park. Be sure to go in season when all the attractions are open. Try the water...More

This is another favorite stop of mine! Go early and get a few tickets, ride a few rides, enjoy the views, grab a bite and a drink. I could easily spend a full day here and hanging out on the beach. It is such a...More

We had limited time but took a quick walk. Need to return to ride the historic and old wooden roller coaster. And also very old carousel. Great photo opps. And during summer there are weekend concerts on the beach. So California cool.

We visited the boardwalk late in the afternoon on a Wednesday after Labor Day. Not a lot of people around. It was daytime and there were a few people on the beach and quite a few volleyball players. Seemed slightly sketchy, but maybe that was...More

They have the perfect amount of rides for a day full of fun. I love to go on Splash Mountain when it is sunny out.

Yes! You can definitely bring ice chests onto the beach or Boardwalk. The City of Santa Cruz has rules for the beach (no smoking, alcohol, dogs, fires, etc.) but ice chests are fine!

It didn't seem that long. It was less than an hour. And it was totally worth it.

The front of the Big Dipper is smoothest by far plus you get a great view. The rear is the wildest because you get the whip... It should not be too crowded because it close to school starting and parents are shopping. But... More
