Free Parking. Free Admission. On top of that, you have never seen such an assortment of horse-drawn carriages in one place. Very small, you get through it in 45 minutes or less - just don't overlook the (beyond the bathroom) corridor to the rental dining hall, where the best exhibits are on the far side. One Downside: while parking is... More

My Sister-in-law rented this museum for my brother's 70th birthday. The event space accommodated about 175 people with round dinner tables easily. The museum staff helped us hire a piano player, bartenders, servers. We had a band and the dance floor was hopping. Loved the sliding garage doors that brought the outside inside. The kids loved the museum items. Great... More

Being from the Midwest and growing up watching cowboy movies, this was a lot of fun for me. I was amazed at the workmanship on the saddles, spurs, chaps, etc. It was also enjoyable to get a close up look at some of the modes of transportation. Just glad it's no longer necessary to use them. Unfortunately, I wasn't there... More

Santa Barbara has one of the largest collections of antique, horse drawn carriages in the United States. They are all brought out for Old Spanish Days and used during the massive parade. Located near the beach, the museum is free, accessible, and a look back into the history of Santa Barbara and the settlement of the central coast. Even kids... More

I have been here several times for High School Class reunions. The building is great for a party and also contains historical transportation vehicles for Santa Barbara. These are seen in the yearly Fiesta Parade in August.

This museum was built by the locals and continues to be updated. It houses the oldest and the most horse saddles in the country. Used in the Santa Barbara Fiesta parade, the saddles and old carriages are quite historical. This facility can also be rented for parties, weddings, and other events.

If you like western and ornate saddles and bridles this place will keep you interested for an hour or so. If you're looking for a meaningful collection of Western art, don't be thinking Maynard Dixon. If you hope to see a number of interesting carriages, you got it. If you hope to learn anything about them - forget it. The... More
