Whether or not you are into non-powered flight, Elings Park makes for a wonderful visit for watching non-powered flight, or even participating in paragliding, solo or tandem. This is one of the Gem's of Santa Barbara and I don't know of another American City that has a paragliding, hang gliding park available within the City. It is also a fun... More

Next to the ocean, lots of open space with views and activities like mountain biking, para sailing, hiking. There are sports fields soccer and baseball.

Attended a family wedding at Elings Park and was so pleased with everything involved. Located on the top of a hill overlooking the ocean on one side and the hills on the other, the cool ocean breeze kept the temperature pleasant. The grassy amphitheater was the perfect setting for the bridal party, and the seating was ample for a small... More

Paragliding is from South entry. You can drive up to the top where paragliding group are gathered. The view was beautiful and paragliding seems fun. Many people were there in the morning around 9am and they can fly by themselves within few hours. Very cool.

Facilities are a bit limited, but the festival ran well. Many other trips, too, for various reasons. Beautiful!

The park has excellent views of the sea and mountains. Parking is available at several points. Stick to the paths on the western side if you don't want a hard hike through the thickets! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHCNqiLgB1s&feature=plcp&context=C4c3a2a3VDvjVQa1PpcFMVX_6EUjgOkio6x90ApYsgkJI21-LUEio%3D

We live half a mile from Elings and I run there two to three times a week. It has lots of "active" recreational opportunities (like soccer fields, baseball diamonds, etc) and lots of "passive" opportunities too (like great views, moderate hiking, dog walking, etc). Personally, I like the more natural area on the south (ocean) side of the park. You... More
