Interesting and beautiful stone beach. No real moonstones, but great place for children to hunt for "treasures".

This lovely spot in Cambria is a favorite of mine. I've been many times and could come here daily if I was fortunate enough to live nearby. I see many locals using the trail along the beach. The boardwalk sits above the beach but there are several places to walk down to touch the beach. There used to be tons... More

Moonstone Beach provides an excellent opportunity to view a particularly beautiful part of the Central Coast. There is a very well designed wooden walkway along the top of the bluffs from which one can take a comfortable walk and view the beach and surf. The beach is accessible, but care must be taken to get down some of the access... More

Its a small yet pretty Central Coast beach. The boardwalk runs the length of Moonstone Road. It is not very large but it is enjoyable. You can find many non-gem quality moonstones everywhere.

We spent the afternoon on the beach. It is a very nice beach. Me being a rock hound, I found lots of moonstoneand other little treasures. What a great place to visit. We loved walking the Boardwalk.

Nice boardwalk above the beach and the beach is pleasant to walk on with tide pools at the north end. The stairs down to the beach are in tough shape and challenging.

We visited on a fairly grey and chilly day in August. We had no clue what moonstones looked like but a friendly couple on the beach kindly showed us what we were looking for. Spent an enjoyable half hour or so combing the beach for moonstones; kids and adults alike got involved. Spotted Dolphins swimming close to shore which was... More

We stopped at Moonstone beach on our drive from San Diego to San Fran through Big Sur in Nov. 2016. It is a very rocky and unique beach. There is a grassy park there as well where you can picnic. We had no problems parking but I should note our visit was an overcast day. Not really a beach to... More
