then by all means, stroll out this one. We stopped and decided the Cayucos Pier was the only pier we would walk this day. California has a number of piers that are far more interesting. But there’s not much to do in San Simeon itself...More

The last thing you expect is a massive pier but it is really massive (high) and a good place for a stroll if the weather is good. We went after a visit to Hearst Castle and had lunch nearby.

Amazing feat to build this pier. It has seen better days and has several gaps in the planking. Typically the wind is so strong one must really button up. Still a great place to go.

Our primary reason to stop was to use the park restrooms. We also walked to the end of the pier, past a few people fishing, and looked at the coastline from a different perspective.

If your in the area you have to stop and take in the view from the end of the pier, both to the ocean and back towards land, A must see.

Nice pier for fishing, walking and people and wildlife viewing. Right next to Coastal Discovery Center.

this place reminds me of australia, seagulls, beach, clear waters, waves, boats hobbing in the distance.. a far cry from the desert heat of highway one.
