Sebastian's in Old San Simeon Village, across Highway 1 from the entrance to Hearst Castle, is a well-known casual eatery. Serving up the very best Heart Ranch burgers, salads and sandwiches - guests from all over can enjoy a bite to eat on the deck with an ocean view or inside the cafe with historic photographs of the Hearst Ranch and Castle. Our historic building has been a general store in the village since 1873 when Leopold Frankl opened one to sell supplies to whalers, miners, dairy farmers and those who transported products in or out by ship.

We had a quick bite to eat here before our 1pm Hearst Castle tour. It doesn’t look much as you drive in off the highway, but it’s an interesting and scenic place to sit outside and get a sense of the castle in the distance...More

The cheeseburger was Amazing. The burger meat was so fresh you can totally tell it’s grass fed. The view is so pretty there looking onto the little school house with the horses in the background. Definitely visit when you’re on your way up to Big...More

We stopped for coffee and tea and were intrigued by the sheep milk ice cream. I had the salted brown sugar. It's $5.00 price seemed high, but most food here is a little higher everywhere we went. The cup is maybe only 4-8 ounces, not...More

This is a charming little outpost on the beach nestled into private ranching lands. Its reputation is widespread so the store/restaurant is packed. The locally grown beef makes for an outstanding burger served with fries. It was plenty big enough to share. Even though it’s...More

Was told by a docent at the Hearst Castle that the good was good here. Since Hearst Castle supplies the beef, we decided to give it a try. We had the tri-tip sandwich with onion rings and a hamburger and fries. Both were excellent. There...More

I always wanted to rent one those apartments next to Sebastian's, I've been going by there ever since I was little, fishing, eating, and and even using the post office. It would nice if there was a apartment open for rent. Phil
