The Baileyana, Tangent & True Myth Tasting Room pours all of the Niven Family wines! Located in the beautiful Edna Valley, it is the result of almost 45 years of work by a single family, starting when Catharine and Jack Niven first planted grapes here in 1973, founding Paragon Vineyards. Today, the business is operated by second and third generation family members and has grown to include over 30 different wines under five separate labels: Baileyana, Tangent & True Myth are the three most important labels and we also produce smaller production volumes under the Zocker and Trenza labels. All these wines are poured at our tasting room located in the historic Independence Schoolhouse, built in 1909. The current building includes some of the original windows, siding and floorboards, preserving history while adding to a uniquely attractive setting for the tasting room and extensive gift shop. Surrounding the tasting room are expansive picnic areas with stunning views of our SIP-Certified Estate Paragon Vineyard. Two full-size Bocce courts are available for your use, or just sit and enjoy the views of the vines across the valley to the mountains. Wine is available by the glass or bottle to enjoy onsite together with a small selection of cheese, salami and crackers - or bring your own picnic and spend a couple of hours here!

Our server Will really made our experience here! He was so knowledgeable about the wines and answered all of our many, many questions. He was hospitable and put up with our endless chatter about how to pair wine with necrophilia!!! Don't forget to check out...More

This quaint winery is close in yet feels a million miles away. Lovely grounds with plenty of tables, great views, a bocci ball court, and some nice wines. We did not do a tasting flight, but each enjoyed a lovely wine in a generous pour....More

The tasting room is in an old schoolhouse. The property is large and the tasting room is nice. They have lots of fun wine accessories and gourmet boxed foods. This would be a perfect place to have picnic and a nice bottle of wine. The...More

As noted by others, the tasting room is off the beaten path, more in the flat lands, and was previously a one room school house. It is obviously smaller than many larger, architectural imposing wineries, but is also a nice change of pace them. Bring...More

Little ways out, but more than worth the drive. They pour four different labels here. Very nice selection and some delicious wines. My wife does not like red and they were happy to do a flight of all whites for her. Friendly staff and nice...More

The wine tasting was done very well and they are very easy to order with, we got a mixed selection and that was no problem. Enjoy a glass out on the patio area. The sparkling rose brut is the best, treat yourself.
