This park contains a excellent golf course that is going through some issues related to the drought. Also a performance stage, a botanical garden. Hiking trails. the golf course is an excellent layout and very playable in the winter with some rains. In summer it can become very dry and fast. Still playable but more like a english links course.

This is a good place to wander around and look for birds. Look for the red-breasted sapsuckers in the many pepper trees, check tall trees for red-tail, Coopers, and Red-shouldered hawks. Quail and wild turkey are common. The arboretum there is worth checking out, too, and there are places to have a picnic under the big sycamore trees.

El Chorro has it all! Golf course as you enter the park. Camp ground as you drive in past the golf course. Go down the hill to great baseball diamonds, botanical garden and parks plus all the way to the end of the road to a great dog park. The park is a short drive to Morro Bay.

This regional park has an wonderful campground with hook ups or not. It has a concrete and cinder block bathroom that is very clean, hosed out every morning. The toilets are real, plumbed toilets. There are showers that are roomy and only cost 50 cents for about 6 minutes of hot water. The best part about this campground is that... More

A little drive from downtown SLO, but free entry part of the year. Has nice hiking trails with beautiful vistas. The botanical gardens are small, but expanding. We enjoyed the many different plants especially the Buckeye Tree and the Miniature Pomagrante Tree.
