I thoroughly enjoyed visiting here, as much for the interesting history of the building (built as a Carnegie Library) as the interesting SLO County history highlighted inside. The docent was wonderful, very friendly and informative. There are two primary and two secondary exhibit rooms. One...More

Nice place to spend an hour and see historical items and facts about San Luis. Enjoyed the old black and white photographs. Small but interesting.

This was a pleasant few minute stop. They don't have much in the way of displays but the video was informative about the history of the area. It's fun to see the different Carnegie libraries.

We went in the space. The docket talked about the history and we watched a film about the settlement of the area. Some art and just a good place to learn about the area.

Originally a Carnegie Library that the town saved and restored. Although small it is of historic interest, with featured display that changes (quarterly?). The Librarian was welcoming and interesting to talk with.

To be honest, we didn't know this museum existed, but we were strolling on the mission plaza and I noticed the building and walked over to see what it was. We love local museums because they typically provide details and insights you wouldn't find elsewhere....More

The San Luis Obispo Carnegie Library was built in 1905. It was designed in a style that included a tall hipped roof with two gabled wings with gargoyles and an entrance hall with multiple round arches. The building is mainly red brick with sandstone trim....More
