The first half was moderate and doable for an out of shape person like me. The second half, I had to stop several times because of the slope and the slippery stones. The view at the top and on the way down were wonderful on a sunny day. Not many flowers yet at the end of February. We crossed path... More

Moderate hike, nice landscape, maintained paths. Just keep your eyes open for bikes. Some days there are a lot and others only a few. No dogs allowed is the only down side.

This is a great path for hikers only. No bikes. It is a 4 mile hike, easy to moderately strenuous. Altitude of 1300+ feet. If you don't want to go to the top, you can hike to the halfway point...the mid-hump. The wildflowers are nice in the spring.

Fantastic view and nice easy trail. Parking can be tough and no dogs allowed, not even on a leash.can combine with a nice walk along the cliffs. Can be pretty crowded in the summer months. Better in winter.

Nice workout hike that goes up about 2 miles and comes down the same way. We went in mid-morning, not crowded, but also still foggy so did not have much in terms of views. First mile is has a little uphill, it's the 2nd miles that will challenge you. Loose stones particularly on the 2nd mile. Your shoes and legs... More

I don't know why I'm reviewing nature, but it is just as awesome as it is intended to be! Go outside and enjoy what the world has to offer. This mountain/foothill has great views of Los Osos, Morro Bay and the rock, and out into the santa lucia mountains.

We had only a little bit time to spend here before we had to drive hours to get home, and this hike is perfect. The trailhead is inside of Montana De Oro State Park next to Spooner's Cove parking lot. The trail is about 5 miles out and back with 1,347' elevation gain, just enough to get a workout in... More

I enjoy this hike because of the views, but all the shale and loose rock can make my feet sore if I don't have on my good hiking shoes. Once you're at the top you will have gorgeous views of the ocean on one side, and a green valley on the backside. Watch for rattlesnakes.

A great hike if you want to be tired when you get to the top and have a beautiful place to catch your breath.
