Kelly Park

If you've time and enjoy some outdoor and creatures. This is the place to drop by for exercise and enjoy the park view as well as the mini zoo creature can offer.

It's a large park, with old historic buildings, an old-time set of stores, a candy shoppe, a building like a hotel, so nice to walk around.

We went to both the Japanese Garden and the History center on a Fall weekday. Both were peaceful. The garden has some beautiful spots and the History Center has some nice old buildings, but our entire group was underwhelmed. We would have loved to go into some of the old buildings, but none except the Vietnamese building were open.

Along with the Japanese friendship gardens and the SJ history museum this is a wonderful place to spend a day, with or without the kids.

When you think of other top cities in the US, you think of their great parks: Central Park in Manhattan, Grant Park in Chicago, or Golden Gate Park in SF. What do we get here in San Jose? Kelly Park could be it: there's a nice little history park, a beautiful Japanese garden, and a cute zoo/amusement park for the... More

Loved this course! It ranged to different challenges. There is a cost for parking $6 per vehicle so if your a big group I suggest meeting some where else and car pooling in. There are many different variants to this course as each 'hole' has four different opportunities. Some targets are very hard to find as they are around trees/bushes/foliage.... More

There is a zoo, and play area for children at Happy Hallow Park. Outside of zoo there are picnic areas . You can go see the Japanese Gardens, wonderful place for photos and weddings. If that's not enough of a day for you, you can go over to the history Park . Not the best fun day for teenagers, but... More

In a way, one can think of Kelly Park as the central park area for San Jose. There are three special parks within this park: 1) Happy Hollow Park and Zoo - While being a small zoo, it is a local zoo to take the children and have a fun day seeing the animals. We have gone a few times,... More

This park gets the balance right between kept and unkept: the structured areas like the open air mini amphitheatre and the numerous BBQ spots don't overly dominate, meaning you can still find a quiet spot that feels like you are that little bit more removed from things. It would have been great to have been here when the miniature railway... More

Another fun destination for small children and not-so-small children. We love the little zoo. The playground areas are great for the wee ones. The historical street is a fun site, and the Japanese Gardens are lovely!
