The river was in full raging flow when I visited! It was winter and yes the area was showing signs of wear but equally there are nice paths along the river. The down and outs were fairly numerous but despite being a single woman I didn't feel threatened. Little Italy nearby was in renovation so hopefully that'll improve the whole... More

I was really disappointed with Guadalupe River Park. The website made it seem like there were nice trails next to a pretty river, but the trails weren't really taken care of and the riverbank was filled with trash. Then as we continued through the park into the city, there were homeless people camped out along the trails and it smelled... More

Paved paths make this a pleasant place to visit, and the trees and landscape are very attractive. You can bring your dog on a leash.

Having looked at this walk on the website we were looking forward to a stroll in San Jose. Picked up the trail in the middle of the City and it was dreadful. Full of rubbish, homeless people camped out and generally felt very unsafe. Give it a miss.

This park is between little Italy of san Jose and SAP center. There are signs educating you about history of first inhabitant area of the city and plurality of ethnicities in this city. After 2-3 miles long walk, I stopped to have a cup of coffee in nearby little Italy.

This would be a beautiful area near the heart of down town San Jose, however it has a lot of homeless that hang out down there and panhandle and do drugs, very little police patrolling and dark areas make for a fairly dicey area.

There are much better parks around the bay area to jog/walk/visit. Dry, dirt roads here. Vegetation is pretty much gone. No water in the river. Quite a bit of homeless people hang out here....however they don't cause any trouble.

It was mostly hot and dry walking the trail. Very little water to see because of the drought. There were a lot of ground squirrels and some homeless people.

Had a very long layover and was a very welcome activity to pass the time. Very well maintained and marked trail system passing right by SJC and a nice stroll to downtown. Paved without any elevation changes.....very easy

The pathway alongside the river was (WAS) very special but it hasn't been looked after and is in desperate need of a cleaning up, repair and regular maintenance.
