I love this church, but it does not have the warmth I remember. More gorgeous than ever. Statues and windows have been cleaned and renovated. It seems to be missing the vibrant interaction I have experienced in the past.

I'm not a Catholic but there's true beauty in this Cathedral. Every December, they hold a special music program over 12 days with local musicians including clubs and school ensembles. Very worthwhile. Also, this deserving Cathedral does tremendous outreach work with he homeless including meals, medical care, and a mail drop. They can always use your help.

According to Wikipaedia, this cathedral was built at the end of the 19th century - and [beautifully] restored at the end of the 20th. The result is a magnificent building, especially inside. The ceiling is absolutely stunning. At the back, in a balcony, a huge pipe organ. Stained glass. Curved pews embracing the central altar. At the back is a... More

Attend to hear seasonal concerts from local symphonic choirs (Ex. Bach Magnificat Nov 26, 2016 nominal fee) or free performances provided by a variety of groups (ex. Season of Hope) are fantastic ways to experience the beauty of this place. Supports local arts and raises much needed funds for community organizations. Bring cushion as seats are hard. Not well-heated in... More

This cathedral is a showpiece and a reverent place in the heart of busy downtown. The majesty, the stained glass and the sculpture are surpassed only by the humble mission of caring and compassion for all. This church is doing the good work of Pope Frances on a daily basis. When you enter you will be taken back by the... More
