We took the Scenic Highway 38 out of Big Bear Lake. Lovely views of the mountains. Lots of hiking opportunities. There were some restrooms along the way. Whether you have a couple of hours or all day to explore, you can make it work.

Our family loved visiting Big Bear Lake in the beautiful San Bernardino National Forest. There was not one piece of trash along the roads, the spring flowers were in bloom, and the scenery was exquisite! What a fabulous place for all to enjoy!

Please contact the local chamber of commerce in Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead or Idyllwild. The Forest Service does not have rental cabins on the San Bernardino.
