As a kid growing up in San Anselmo, I played at this location often, played little league on the fields, went to Isobel Cook school, played at the log cabin then too, but I had to wait to see the real treasure which is the bar below the log cabin

This is a funny little log cabin in San Anselmo, which is available for party rentals. We went to a great party there and had so much fun. It is just a bare bones rental, you bring everything in but for a casual group it's the best. There is also a The Dugout Bar underneath which is open Wed.-Sat. I... More

This is where the rehearsal dinner was held, no air conditioning very hot 1 fan. The manager handling the beer and wine could have been friendly. Downstairs is the regular bar which was expensive and that bartender also was not very friendly.

I always visit the American Legion Log Cabin when voting, but it's also a nice spot to rent for a party or a cookout. It was built between 1933 and 1934 by WWI vets using local redwood trees and no power tools. One of the hidden surprises is the Dugout Bar in the basement. it's a great little treasure in... More

If you go there during Memorial day, Veterans Day, or the 4th of July, there is usually a band there and a bunch of outdoor activities. I love this place. Great old bar, vets get first drink free sometimes. Food available on those dates as part of the celebration. The Post itself is historic.

We attended a wedding reception at the American Legion Log Cabin. It has a great rustic atmosphere and plenty of room to party. There is plenty of parking and the restroom facilities were very clean. We had a great time at the reception. For us it was a perfect evening.

Basement, bar, beers, buddies, baseball. What's not to like? God bless America and those who have served her well!

the San Anselmo American Legion Log Cabin bar is a hidden gem. Open Wednesday to Saturday, nights only, this is a great place to soak up local flavor. Can be intimidating the first time, but don't worry, the crowd is really nice and inviting. If you are having just a short stay in San Anselmo, this would be a great... More

I'm not sure about the Log Cabin, but the adjacent playground is DA BomB! there is a separate area for teeny tiny tots, plenty of benches, bathrooms and trees. all fenced in. check out this playground before construction begins on a flood control project and it is closed.

This is a wonderful place to hold a party or event. The coordinator is lovely to work with and the main room of the Cabin has a stage which is perfert for a live band. Downstairs is a full bar which guests can access or you can provide beverages to your guests too. It has it's own parking lot and... More
