The Monterey Peninsula's love affair with world-class racing traces its beginnings to the inaugural running of the Pebble Beach Road Races in 1950. Those sports car events quickly outgrew the public roads of the Del Monte Forest and a beautiful new road facility was born on November 9, 1957.Since then, Monterey has been visited by some of the most prestigious racers in history; Roger Penske, Dan Gurney, Parnelli Jones, Kenny Roberts, Bobby Rahal, Wayne Rainey and Valentino Rossi to name a few. The late 60's and 1970's may be remembered as the "Can-Am Years," but it was also the debut of Trans Am, IMSA and AMA motorcycles. CART Indy Car racing and Grand Prix Motorcycling put their stamp on the track in the 80's and 90's. More recently, the huge evolution MotoGP has created a phenomenal global following for the track.Today, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca hosts five world-class race weekends each season, with elite road racing series from around the world visiting the Monterey Peninsula every year.

Awesome classic race cars, super pit access combined with an exciting road race track - it just doesn't get any better. I recommend you spend a little more for the preferred parking pass. It allows you to park right next to the track, near the Andretti Hairpin Turn. Well worth the expense. I have already set aside the dates for... More

We went on the final day of the racing week, really enjoyable to see all the classic cars from years gone by still being used competitively. Good venue for spectators with excellent views of most of the circuit from the beer tent adjacent to the world famous corkscrew. Access to all of the paddock to see up close the classic's... More

Visited for Pre Reunion at Monterey Historical Races. Entrance was free except pits area. My kids and I enjoyed it a lot. We had good teriyaki chicken plates for lunch. You may consider to bring ear plug for kids. The car racing was real loud.

Friendly staff at this fantastic track. It really feels like a small town track and a step back into time. I was very happy with the charm. The antiquated restrooms are in need of an update to say the least

Great track. Best viewing vantage point end of start finish straight on outside of track near toilet block (which was locked when it definitely should not have been). No shade but good elevated viewing. Probably can see 50% of track here. Parking poorly organised for general parking. A non sensical parking colour coding system used with no guidance as you... I came to California for the Concours D' Elegance. I thought the best way to start was to go to the pre-reunion race. There is also a race at the other end of the week-the reunion. This is the best way to go. First, costs were $25.00 for pit passes, which you MUST have so that you can see the... More

One on the key factors in differentiating good venues from not-so-good ones is the manner (and manners) with which the crowd is accommodated. MRLS does this with aplomb, and with some of the nicest folks in the business. As race tracks go, this one is exceptionally well organized, with perhaps the greatest array of viewing spots. Perfectly situated near Monterrey... More

My husband and I went there for a track event this last Monday. Very fun! The only thing that was frustrating was that the bathrooms by the restaurant were closed and we had to use the ones by the garage. Not that big of a deal though. The food was great! We had the Teriyaki Chicken Plate and it was... More
