Take a Walk on the Wild Side! Visit Monterey Zoo and see a collection of over 100 animals as this zoo is fast becoming a premier Monterey Attraction. Currently under construction but still open daily for all to see the progress and hopefully help support this special effort to improve the quality of life for the animals and the community that enjoys them.

I brought my 2 year old grandchild here and was sadly disappointed. The cost for admission was ridiculous and, I guess, the only way to view the animals is with a "guided tour." A two-year-old could care less about a guided tour. He quickly tired...More

Love this place! My boyfriend at the time proposed to me in the big cat bungalow. We had a fantastic time bathing and feeding the elephants! When family members visit we always make sure to bring them here!

We are although some exhibits and activities might be closed for the health and safety of the animals. It's all dependent upon how bad the weather is but we generally stop open rain or shine.

How far is it from Monterey? Is there public transportation or do you need a cab or Uber😄

Uber or a cab is in fact currently the best choices at this point. We hope our future will include transportation to and from Monterey and our zoo.
