The oldest winery in Napa Valley, Charles Krug recently renovated its historic Redwood Cellar, turning it into one of the region's most stunning Tasting Rooms. Named one of the "Top 10 California Tasting Experiences" by Food & Wine and winner of the 2015 Architecture and Landscape Award for Best of Wine Tourism, this is the winery that put Napa on the map. A must-see for anyone interested in the legacy of Napa Valley winemaking. We offer several tasting options daily, including barrel tastings, private tours, and exclusive tastings of our limited release wines. Walk-ins are welcome, or call to make an appointment.

We started our day at Krug with the 10:30 AM tour and tasting. The venue, guide and wine set the benchmark for the day. We visit several other "premier brands" that day, but agreed that the Krug experience was the best. A must for your wine country experience.

This winery is beautiful and has a great history. Tasting is at a small table for your party and the host or hostess will give you the history of the winery. The wines were excellent. We did the premium wines for $40 a person. 5 different wines from $60 to $125 a bottle.

Enjoyed the Reaerve Tasting at Charles Krug on a solo trip to Napa. I enjoyed the wines very much...though I admit that I'm getting burnt out on the Cabernets... had a chance to try the Sauvignon Blanc and, even though it was the cheapest wine on the non-Reserve menu, I really enjoyed it a lot! In a Valley full of... More

We made a stop here on the wine train and were not disappointed. Our guide told us all about the history of how wine began in Napa and the families that were involved. The grounds were well groomed and the wine we sampled was reasonably good. We learned a few interesting tidbits about Napa on a pleasant afternoon and were... More

Krug was on our list of must visit wineries during our first trip to the Napa Valley... not only because of their reputation (who hasn't heard of Krug?) but also because of the historical significance of Krug and the Mondavi family. We visited on a day where they were closing the tasting room early, for a special meeting is what... More

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We are so sorry you had a disappointing experience. Unfortunately we did have to close an hour early the day you visited because of an important staff meeting. I'm sure that was disappointing and not a great start to your visit. I'm also very sorry one of our staff... More

Maybe it was the comparison to the other places we'd been but I thought Charles Krug was rather unimpressive. A couple of harried staff running around giving tastings to people in a big cold room. Admittedly, the week were there it was raining and cold (we saw some snow falling on Mt Howell when we were up there) but we... More

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback, as difficult as it is to read. Clearly we were understaffed the day you visited, and you did not receive the attentive service you should have. We were looking for wineries to visit and my husband had read the reviews here and put this winery on our map. It was a very scenic drive to the winery. This was the first winery we stopped at. We were directed to this location by our hotel. The wine was very good but I felt a bit rushed during the visit. Our guide was handling a few other tables so he was spread a bit thin. He provided ample tasting options but limited discussion. Still worth the visit.

This was a great stop, one of our better stops on our tour and one of Napa's best tasting experiences! Of course we had to stop here, after visiting the Robert Mondavi Winery we needed to get the other side of the Mondavi family history and Peter's story did not disappoint. The tasting room and facility were first class and... More
