The Museum was first opened in 1969 and for nearly 50 years has been dedicated to connecting the life, works, and times of author Robert Louis Stevenson. For those who want an intimate and engaging look at this beloved author of such classics as Treasure Island and Strange Case of Jekyll and Hyde, this museum is a must see. Presley and the staff at the museum are very knowledgeable. There is an amazing amount of personal items and information. Well worth the time!

I spent a wonderful hour learning about Stevenson and the museum - so much I didn't know! I had a great conversation with the person on duty, sharing insights and theatrical ideas. What a lovely experience

This is a charming and comprehensive collection of Stevenson memorabilia, adjacent to a library. The staff person took the time to discuss Stevenson's life without hurrying us, even though we arrived after closing time.
