I have been riding my bikes on the American River Bike Trail since the mid 70's,,, It has evolved and improved over the years, but is defintitely a rare treasure that takes you through several eco-systems. The trail is well maintained and is patrolled daily...More

The Jaboom Street bridge is now open and it's and renovation of the bridge is a nice improvement. The bike trail is still a beautiful place to ride your bike. I just went on it with people from 5 different countries and they loved it....More

I have been using the American River Parkway since I was a young boy. Actually, before the bike trail was established. I once even ran the Jedidiah Smith 50 from Sacramento State to Auburn. Over the years, I have walked my dogs along the River...More

Bike trail is a wonderful path that winds it way through creeks, and over rivers. You get the opportunity to see various flora and fauna such as the drug ridden camps, where shootings have happened and people go missing. Human waste dumped on the shores...More

My husband grew up on the river. We live close by and spend most of our summer weekends kayaking there. It gets crazy with drunk people on holiday weekends (alcohol bans don’t deter the teenagers and college kids, so we stay away when it’s crowded.)...More

A very well done Riverwalk, a good combination of developed and undeveloped areas. Sacramento is blessed to have such beautiful scenery.

Several years ago I rode the Trail with a friend. We were two women in our 50's, out-of-towners. When flooding forced us off the trail into parts unknown, it was homeless folks we gave us directions. Yes, be cautious and alert to cues of danger...More

I LOVE the American River Bicycle Trail! Stretching 32 miles (64 round trip), there are only a couple of places where cyclists might encounter traffic entering the area, so riding feels so much safer and saner than a city street. Hiking trails abound, meandering along...More

This is one of the best flat rides I've ever ridden. Only minimal contact with cars and has always been safe from Cal Expo eastward. Combined with the State's trail around Lake Natoma it's a great weekend ride if you're not looking for big hills.

This is an awesome bike trail extending for miles along the river. Beautiful views near Folsom & Lake Natoma. You can ride all the way from Folsom to Old Sacramento and beyond.
