This museum tells a wonderful story about trains. Numerous RR cars to walk through. There is a shop with fun goodies as well. Worth the time and price.

History buffs, train buffs, mechanical buffs all will enjoy the presentation of locomotives, dinner cars, passenger cars and sleeper cars throughout time. Also see the multitude of mini-trains on the second floor.

No, this museum is not a working railroad. However, the Amtrak to the bay is located about 1/2 mile from the Museum...and that will get you to/from SF in one day. Uber/Lyft from museum to Amtrak is only $7!
