We spent 2.5 hours touring the restored fort and learning of the events and people that propelled Sacramento into the limelight. The motion detecting audio narratives are a neat feature and the orientation videos gave a compelling story of the local history, guardians and villains....More

I hadn't been to Sutters fort since I was a little girl. It was awesome to revisit this place. So much history in Sacramento that we as locals overlook. Great staff. Lots of fun

It's a really big fort in the middle of the city, so it's a quiet refuge from the bustle of the city. I wish there was more historical information at the fort. There is stuff, but I wish there could have been more. But for...More

The period-re-enactors made this especially exciting! Very interesting, and only takes about 1-2 hours to see everything while taking your time.

I love history and was the most excited out of my family to attend this historic park. In the end I think the whole family enjoyed their time at Sutter's fort. When in the area and have the time Sutter's Fort is worth a visit!

Though it was hot today the employees working at the fort really engaged with the visitors to tell the story of John Sutter. It was great to see my son (11) see how people lived w/o the video games & AC!! He really liked the...More

This building is a restoration that was done quite some time ago. The outer big square had to be entirely rebuilt. A central structure was restored from the original building. Most of the tour is accomplished by walking up to the doors of the rooms...More
