The Inglenook legacy began in 1879 when Gustave Niebaum, a Finnish sea captain, wine connoisseur and entrepreneur, came to Rutherford to build a wine estate that would rival Europe's finest. When Niebaum's grandnephew, John Daniel, Jr. inherited the chateau and vineyards in the 1930s, Inglenook had already earned international acclaim. Francis and Eleanor Coppola purchased the property in 1975 and have spent forty years reuniting the original vineyards, returning winemaking operations to the chateau, and restoring Inglenook's illustrious heritage with the help of renowned wine consultant Stephane Derenoncourt and Managing Director and Winemaker Philippe Bascaules. In honor of this estate and its historical significance, we have restored the name, Inglenook.

This Francis Coppola winery is just wonderful. Beautiful buildings, and landscape. Very nice atmosphere. Not too touristy. Less than Beringer for example. One feels at home . Everything is easy. The personnel is attentionate and friendly. It is lovely to sip a glass of wine on the terrace outside of the café. At last and not least, good wines, especially... More

Simply a gorgeous chateau, beautiful vineyards on a spectacular and very large property that should be a must see for anyone visiting Napa Valley. Inside you will find elegant and refined tasting rooms with marble floors and hand crafted Persian carpets, all worthy of serving high quality premium wines. This is how great vineyards should be shown and remembered.

Came here with my mom and sisters this week while on a visit to the Valley. From the time we entered to the time we left, it was magical! Dominique who started our tasting was amazing and shared so much of her life with us while we chatted at the desk about Chicago and speaking French. :) Merci to Dominique!... More

This is one of my favorite vineyards in all of wine country. There is some much history and so many stories from how it had produced of the "Top 10 wines of the century" to how it's owner, Francis Ford Coppola has brought the entire property back to its former glory. The estate wines are amazing.

Our visit to Inglenook and wine tasting with David was memorable and special! David is so knowledgeable about wines. He took us through the life cycle of the grape from planting to harvesting. We are members of Inglenook and our tasting with David was private and not hurried. We tasted 5 wines including the very special 2007 Rubicon Cab. The... More

Today we stopped by Inglenook for a tour and tasting as part of our Napa Valley weekend over Presidents' Day. It was a great way to spend the afternoon. The highlight of the day came shortly after we began the tour when our guide opened the front door and pointed to the vineyards which were being soaked by the day's... More

Beautiful historic site with a strong educational component provided through the museum displays. Impressive flight of flagship wines were offered to taste, paired well with artisan cheeses. Sebastian was our guide for the tour. He was charming and knowledgeable with great passion for the story behind the winery and the property. A must-see site for wine aficionados.
