I was passing by this venerable old building today. Normally it is closed but I noticed the main door was ajar. So out of curiosity I ventured inside. There are two main doors but only one was open. It would a problem for someone larger than me and I am an average sized guy. 5 Foot 9 inches and about 170pounds.
It was dark inside and you would miss the visitors book. There is a very steep stairs to the upper part of the Cathedral. The main body of the Cathedral several very old architectural gems, stone work is magnificent. Sadly I hadn't booked my visit so I made my own way around. Still it was an excellent visit. I will be back

Beautiful church which is only open for services. Times are displayed on a board outside the front door.
This is a very old and photogenic church and I enjoyed looking around the graveyard where you can find both Catholics and Protestants buried. I have never seen this before in this part of the world and it was lovely to see.
Great views of the church from the grounds of the nearby Raphoe Castle.
