We arrived not sure if open to visitors, thankfully it was and we were greeted first by the donkeys to either side of the road and had a pleasant walk up to see others in several paddocks with signs posted along the way giving the background of many of the animals along with general information signs that were educational (I think they are supposed to be more geared to children but I didn't know most of the stuff on them).
Arriving at the stables where some more recent arrivals we were also greeted by one of the people who look after the animals and the facilities, he was very friendly and spared the time for a cup of tea with us and a chat about the animals and the history of the place.
We left with a arm full donkey related gifts to take back with us from the gift shop tea room and uplifted that so much time and effort is being put into helping these lovely animals.
We would thoroughly recommend visiting.

We visited today with our 18 month old. She loved the 'dunkeys' and we enjoyed meeting Danny and Sam. It's amazing to see all the donkeys......lots of information about each one. Nice to see them being so well looked after. Dogs (on lead) are also welcome which was great. we'll definitely be back in the summer.

A place full of love for disadvantaged by the fate donkeys. They find peace and love there. Worth a visit
(You can adopt a donkey - only 25 euros a year :) )
