This lovely museum is easy for children and their parents to enjoy. Supported by the wonderful bookstore in its basement, most people don't even know that it is there, in the center of Redwood City. Parking is nearby. The museum is usually quiet. Recommended for...More

Loved the old courthouse museum. It's a great source of history of our county and city. It took me down memory lane and makes me sad to see so much development and change in the city. It has a great docent and field trip guides...More

Extremely nice history of Bay Area. The story of people who settled this area and American/California dream. A lot of people haven't heard about it, but it's one of this underrated gem that is worth seeing. Been there two times.

This museum is probably most interesting to San Mateo County residents (or someone interested in the local history). It has a good amount of information presented in a way that makes it interesting. The old courtroom and domed ceiling are very worth seeing.

Good place to spend a day for family with children. Learning about the history of San Mateo County. You can get free pass via Peninsula Library system. It's located in the heart of Redwood City downtown. Lots of venues for food and shopping.

Nice quiet leisurely visit to a place I had never visited in almost 30 years of living in SM county. Nicely laid out, informative, good to find a free visit day for visiting.
