Wow, really beautiful.

This is an amazing hike filled with beauty. If you head up river toward Shasta, you'll find some of the best and most spectacular trout rivers anywhere.

The Sacramento river trail has to be one of the nations best downtown trails. There is many places to access it but a great place to start is the Turtle Bay museum and the famous SUNDIAL bridge. When you cross the bridge you can see the beautiful mountains, watch drift boats float below you with fly fisherman catching trout and... More

My husband I regularly enjoy hikes along the many facets of the Sacramento River Trail. Depending on your wishes, one can walk the varied ups and downs of the north side of the trail, or take your dog "off leash" to the Open Space area to view some spectacular river wildlife areas. The continued development of the network of trails... More

Nice trail network with great access. There are several places to park and do different walks or rides. Bike, walk, skate, run. The river is close by . Popular with locals.

While we had a break in the rain, I decided to take my dog for a walk and enjoy our beautiful river trail. I parked at The big Turtle Bay parking lot which was quite full because the Redding marathon was that morning but I was able to get a spot without driving in circles. There were a lot of... More

10 Years ago it was a beautiful Natural walk along a gorgeous River. Dear and frogs could be seen and heard. You could bike, hike, run or any other form of activity with out nary a scare. These days, if you choose to walk the River trail, please bring you Concealed Weapon, mace, pepper spray, emergency whistle and a cell... More

And it seems everyone has the same idea! This place is always busy, bikers and skaters, dog walkers and families with kids - this trail sees them all. Even on the hottest days, it's still a lovely stroll.

Found this trail by accident. We were at the Sundial bridge then the arboretum. This trail was mentioned on the map. It took a few minutes to find the trail but once we found it it was beautiful even on a cloudy day. Lots of places to stop for a picnic. Fun watching the fishermen in the water and in... More

With fine weather, cycling this path to the north beyond the crowds, is amazing....you are transported to incredible landscapes along the Sacramento River and its reservoirs with rolling hills, wildlife and smooth paths maintained by BLM.

Thank tmmp
